Bermondsey has been named the best place to live in London in 2018 in a list compiled by The Sunday Times.
The list, which is titled 'Best Places to Live 2018' and looks at the best places to live in Britain as a whole, includes 10 locations from across the capital.
Bermondsey is just one of 10 locations which made the list for the London region. Other locations included in the London region are Clapton, Notting Hill, Herne Hill, and Tufnell Park.
The judges who named Bermondsey the winner arrived at their decision by weighing up a variety of factors. These include jobs, access to culture, access to good schools, community spirit and shops.
According to The Sunday Times, the choice of Bermondsey as the winner for the London region is "reflects the rise of an area that epitomises the modern urban good life".
Bermondsey, SE1, boasts proximity to Maltby Street Market, and it is home to the White Cube Gallery, the Fashion and Textile Museum, and it has a strong foodie and bar scene.
A favourite area for young professionals to rent or buy property in, Bermondsey is also a desirable location because of its transport connections (London Bridge is a stone's throw away) and profusion of architecturally-appealing converted warehouse buildings.
